Written By: Marisa Carter
Essential oils by Tisserand are truly relaxing and rejuvenating. After a long day at work or a stressful encounter Tisserand 100% organic and pure essential oil has the ability to aromatically melt away your tension and refresh your mind and body.  Whether you seek a rich aroma in an oil like patchouli, the calming and floral scent of lavender or an invigorating citrus refresher like bergamot, Tisserand provides a pure essential oil to fit your need.  I should know I just got done soaking in a lavender scented bath with softening beads and warm milk. It was definitely a relaxing treat!

Tisserand, a company dedicated to the healing powers of aromatherapy, was started in England in 1985.  These purely extracted oils are in an array of products that Tisserand provides, including bath oils, mist massage oils, hand and body creams and lotions, deodorant, hand washes and hair and skincare products, and many more.

I urge, at a minimum, you to try out a Tisserand pure essential oil.   These little bottles of joy can be used for aromatic baths, an aromatherapy massage, if applied to lotion or oil, or if added to a vaporizer or oil pot you can fill an entire space with a wonderful scent. I encourage you to make an effort to treat yourself to an inexpensive relaxing technique that can ultimately add to keeping you centered, unstressed and vibrant.  The pure organic essential oils start at just $10.

Seek the Essentials

Written by: Marisa Carter
There are some essentials that every woman should have. The world is not only tough on the spirit and mind but on the body as well. Our body's are temples that must be maintained inside and out.  I'm sure you have heard the saying "you get out of it what you put in it".  In order to obtain my natural beauty and rid myself of the sluff that piles on from day to day I stock up on the basics: vitamins, face wash & scrub, makeup remover, acne control, body wash, and moisturizer. I often find myself wanting to alternate products so I have listed my top two of each basic. Maybe you can find some benefit of these products as well.

Neutrogena is one of my favorite cleansing products. It has a wide variety of products for all types of skin. Oil to Dry and Acne prone. Try out one of these basic glycerin face washes. They are light and leave no pore-clogging residue. The are oil free and the Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser will leave you feeling ultra energized in the morning.
Cream washes leave my face feeling soft and replenished.  They too work to unclog pores and the Acne Stress Control adds acne fighting medicine to its formula, along with including green tea and cucumber to actively reduces redness and irritation.

Facial scrubs are an important agent in keeping you face smooth and clear.  It is essential that you exfoliate with a face scrub at least twice a week.  St. Ives Apricot Scrub is a Must-Have! It has been around forever. It stands the test of time as far as gently exfoliating and preventing breakouts. I love the rough feel against my skin and the fresh scent of apricot. It's not oily and doesn't dry your skin. You will feel the difference if you haven't exfoliated in a while.  The Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub is a gentler exfoliater but it too packs a powerful result.

Makeup Remover wipes should always be applied before the cleansing process when you are wearing makeup. These wipes prep your face to be completely cleaned.  They remove all the excess makeup, and wipes like Noxzema and Neutrogena additional medicinal agents to keep the pores clean and refreshed.

Oil Blotting Sheets are a nefty little invention. They are a great way of  refreshing your makeup without  repeat application.  They also really work towards reducing breakouts.  Breakouts are often caused by excess oil building up in your skin. That oil attracts dirt and thus causing the skin to become irritated and react by producing acne. Blotter help to reduce the oil and keep your looking fresh.

Moisturizers are vital aspect of keeping your face rejuvenated, firm, and wrinkle-free.  I usually try to choose oil-free moisturizers to help prevent from clogging my pores.  Clinique has a classic line of products for both dry and oil skin types. It usually includes a cleansing bar and wash, the clarifying lotion and the dramatically different moisturizer. I have always had an affinity to the Clinique moisturizer. It is light and smooth, it's actually a gel and therefore feels completely residue free. The L'Oreal Revita-Lift works overnight replenishing your skin and riding you of any wrinkles. You wake up looking as if you got a full beauty rest.

Speaking of moisturizing. It is essential that you keep work towards this from the inside as well as out. Water  is  perhaps the most natural way to keep yourself from breakouts and maintaining a young and glowing complexion.  Remember to drink lots of water EACH AND EVERY SINGLE DAY! Water will keep toxins flushed out of your system and you revitalize your entire body.  Aquafina is my favorite water and Fiji is great when I feel like splurging.

While you are drinking that water go ahead and pop a few vitamins that promote healthy skin as well.  Hair , Skin and Nail  vitamins by Spring Valley as will as Biotin by Origins are affordable and use a combination of vitamins that stimulate your nail and hair cells to be stronger thus growing longer, and renew your skin cells to contribute to the freshest you. The key to vitamins is to be consistent and take them daily. It will take a bit of time for the vitamin to really get into your system and stimulate renewal. Incorporate them into your morning cleansing routine and you will start see the difference.

Treating the body as good as you do your face should be a priority in order to achieve healthy skin all over.  Two of my favorite basic body washes are Dove's Pink Beauty Bar and Nivea's Touch of Sparkle. The Dove Beauty Bar is a classic cleaning agent and there should always be one handy at home.  It leaves you clean with no residue, it's quarter moisturizer formula keeps away dry skin and the scent is light and feminine, leaving you at your freshest.  Nivea Touch of Sparkle smells absolutely heavenly, it's moisturizing and it's CHEAP! at under $4 a bottle.

Once you have bathed moisturize your skin with Nivea's Body Lotion in the blue bottle.  It has a luxuriously  creamy formula that will leave your skin feeling like satin. It's a little pricey but definitely a beauty basic. The scent is light and fresh.  Cocoa Butter has been around for centuries and is a natural  moisturizer. Cocoa butter penetrates deep and is great to keep winter dry skin away.  It also helps it the reduction of aging and scars. I also use it as lip balm all the time. Another Must-Have!

Keeping your lips moisturized and supple is a must. Carol's Daughter Lip Butter is ultra-saturated  and extra kissable.  And Rinse's Peppermint Pucker Stick is lip balm that leaves you feeling lightly moisturized and peppermint is refreshing. A natural lip balm should always be somewhere handy so I suggest buying a few.
