Spa Protocol

Tip #1:
It is customary to be greeted by a staff member and given a spa tour to acquaint you with the facility and the amenities offered when visiting a new spa. If this service is not offered upon arrival do not hesitate to ask.

Tip #2:
It is often a question as to whether or not to completely disrobe when receiving a spa treatment or massage.  The answer to this is to shed as much clothing as you are comfortable with.  It is customary to get completely nude during a massage but by no means necessary. Please view the video below for a more in-depth explanation.

Tip #3:
Always review your spa services with your therapist before the treatment begins. That way both you and the professional are comfortable in understanding what you are expecting.

Tip #4:
Arrive to your spa appointment on time and clean! The masseuse will not be able to attend to you thoroughly or comfortably if you are not fresh.

Tip #5:
Drink lots of water before your treatment and drink even more after you have completed your treatment.  Water helps to flush the toxins out of your blood stream once they have been released from your muscles.  It is important to drink plenty of H20 in order to maintain the relaxed and rejuvenated state that your body has achieved through massage.

Tip #6:
To Talk or Not To Talk: You can choose to talk during your spa session or choose to be silent.  The therapist should always talk the cue from you. If you are not talking and the therapist just won't quit don't hesitate to say something like " you know I  really just want to reach a complete sense of calm in a quiet environment" they should get the point. In general, a rule of thumb is to always use your "spa voice" when you talk in any space within the spa.

Tip #7:
Turn Off your Cell Phone. You can't fully relax if you're answering calls, checking emails or texting. And neither can the person next to you. This even goes if you're getting a pedicure or while in the relaxation room. Bring a book or magazine instead or better yet decide to take a nap.
